Naturally and Simply
A Simply Earth™ Essential Oil Close-Up
If you’ve gotten to know me personally, you know how . . . eccentric I can be. One of my lovely friends (*cough* Nayely *cough*) likes to say I have “interesting” tastes. I can’t argue there. For Christmas 2015, my cousin Chantal gifted my with a cute mini trio of essential oils from golden earth® and I took those everywhere. Fast forward to spring semester 2017 and there I am anointing my girl Kyyah before every class because let’s face it, college is draining so any little kind of pick-me-up is a blessing. I’m a big fan of DIYs and all natural products. They make me happy.
The reason I bring this up is because I was given an epic opportunity to do an unboxing for the April subscription box from Simply Earth™. For those that don’t know what Simply Earth™ is (which is probably a lot of people; this monthly subscription service is highly underrated), a little summary:
Simply Earth™ is a monthly subscription box of essential oils and recipes that gives 13% of its profits to organizations that help put an end to Human Trafficking.
Each box contains full-sized essential oils (15ml each) and recipes along with some of the supplies needed to make each DIY. View my unboxing video below to find out what’s inside the April box. (Please excuse the awkwardness and camera quality. I’m a poor excuse for a Media Comm major when it comes to being in front of the camera, I know. I’d like to think I make up for it with writing and charisma.)
ANYWAY!! Following the video, here are the recipes!!!
The first recipe is Garbage Pail Pods. The recipe is easy and great for these upcoming warm months when the heat makes your garbage smell worse. Or when you’re Karla and just can’t stand the smell of trash. At all.
The next one is a favorite: Clean Air Diffuser Blend. I love diffuser blends. I actually made it myself as soon as I got the box; it smells refreshing. Clean Air, indeed.
The Tub and Tile Scrub is super handy. It’s basically an exfoliator for your bathroom. When I clean my bathroom, I go to town with bleach and the works. The best parts about this recipe are that it smells great and isn’t harsh on you like the regular chemical bathroom cleaners.
There’s something about spring that just makes you want everything to smell clean, fresh, and leave you invigorated. Or is that just me? This Natural Room Spray recipe does just that. Make sure to remember to shake the bottle before every use as oil and water tend to separate. (Yay! Science!)
Bonus! This can also be used as a bathroom spray. Has anyone heard of Poo~Pourri? Yeah, this spray works like that too.
Now the Furniture Polish is a recipe I probably won’t be able to make use of as I actually don’t have any wood furniture, but it doesn’t mean I can’t share it for someone who can. In my opinion, this is like Pledge® but better and less costly!
Lastly, and my second favorite recipe, the Surface Cleaner. You better believe I use this on every surface that I’m able to. Honestly, I love that this is what was inside the April box because it’s something that I can take with me to my last year of college when my budget will put me at “not exactly broke, but can’t exactly splurge”. And let’s get real, cleaning supplies are actually pretty expensive when added up.
I had a lot of fun playing with most of these recipes. Thank you Simply Earth™ for being one of my Nuggets of Happiness.
